The Story Behind Calm Balm
Hunter is terrified of storms. The moment the sky changes or thunder rolls in the distance, he starts pacing, panting and looking for somewhere to hide. Watching him go from a calm, happy dog to a visibly frightened one taught our family how much a consistent, familiar ritual can matter before the fear takes hold.
Calm Balm, our calming balm for dogs, grew directly out of the routine we built for Hunter: a few quiet minutes, a familiar scent and steady, calm attention before a storm rolls in. Our Labrador Benji shares some of that same storm sensitivity, so the same ritual has become part of his routine too.
Sissy, our rescued Labrador mix, carries a different kind of fear. Car rides, veterinary visits and meeting new people can bring out a withdrawn, shut-down response. Calm Balm has become part of how we help her settle before those moments as well.
Hunter, Benji and Sissy each experience fear differently, and their stories are personal, not a promise that another dog will respond the same way. Calm Balm is a topical aromatic product meant to support a comforting ritual. It does not sedate your dog and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anxiety or any behavioral disorder.
More Than a Scent
Dogs often take cues from repetition, environment and the people they trust. Calm Balm is designed to accompany a broader comfort ritual that may include a quiet space, a familiar bed, reduced noise, gentle contact and calm human behavior.

How to use
Apply an amount approximately the size of a grain of rice to the outer surface of the inner ear flap, the wrist area or the base of the tail before an anticipated stressful event. Use only a very small amount. Never place the balm inside the ear canal. Avoid the eyes, nose and mouth. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Prevent your dog from licking the area right after application. Wash your hands after application. Stop use if your dog shows skin irritation, respiratory discomfort, unusual drooling, vomiting, lethargy or behavioral distress.
